This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to undertake the repair of compressors, turbines and associated equipment on gas turbine units.
The repair of compressors, turbines and associated equipment on gas turbine units ensures the restoration of any broken, damaged or failed devices, equipment or parts of a gas turbine unit to an acceptable operating condition.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan work, disassemble gas turbine, inspect gas turbine components, repair gas turbine and components, reassemble gas turbine and complete all work tasks. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision in an electrical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment repair workshop/area
Power generation maintenance personnel are typically trained and authorised to receive permits to work.
